What if abundance had nothing to do with what you earn- and everything to do with what you allow yourself to think, feel and receive?
We’re told that abundance means having a lot of something, usually money, freedom and the ability to buy whatever we want. But what about the longing for something money can’t buy: connection, meaning, and joy on our own terms?
A Human Design book I recently picked up described my life purpose in a way that gave me the chills. It spoke about self-regulation as the key to fulfilling dreams by recognizing when we’re out of alignment with sufficiency and flow.
It mirrored what I’ve been organically learning and living over here the past few years- unclogging my own pipes of doubt and fear, letting energy move through me, and noticing what it feels like when I truly believe I have all the time in the world.
THE HIDDEN SHADOW OF MANIFESTATION
I tried to chase abundance and built a million-dollar company that looked successful on paper. But underneath my nervous system was running off a story: I have to prove my worth through what I create.
Maybe you know this cultural story all too well too—the one where your value feels tied to your output, your hustle, your results.
The beauty of manifestation is that you can create anything you set your mind to. The shadow? Whatever subconscious belief is at the root of your being will color what you create. You might “manifest” the dream — and still feel empty, because the old story hasn’t changed.
The universe has a way of getting our attention when we’re ready to realign though. For me, it came through health struggles that slowed me down and whispered, You don’t have to work this hard. You can rest more. You can build with ease. But you have to listen.
Have you ever heard that whisper? That invitation to soften, even when the world seems to demand more from you?
Listening to it felt like abandoning everything I’ve ever known and stepping into the unknown. But I did it anyway. Because I like to take big risks- I want to know where power really lies.
HEALING FROM THE INSIDE OUT
When I closed Sweet & Spark nearly five years ago, I had no idea the next chapter would be a deep, ongoing journey. Healing isn’t a straight line—it’s a practice, often invisible to others, but profoundly felt inside.
Through dedication to somatic and parts work therapy, acupuncture, craniosacral sessions, massage, and a community of women that held space without trying to fix me, I began to take my armor off.
I remember lying on a craniosacral therapist’s table, her hands barely touching the base of my skull, feeling a wave of warmth travel down my leg. A sign my body finally believed it was safe to rest. I remember her whispering, let gravity and the table hold you.
Over time, I’ve learned to notice my body’s signals: neck tightness when it doesn’t feel safe to be passionate and hip tension when I feel stuck in place. Now I can name it, tend to it, and slowly rewrite the pattern by telling myself a new story of ease.
When we’re stuck in fight, flight, or freeze, we can’t truly receive. Our nervous system is too busy scanning for threats to notice opportunities, too clenched to let life in and to let our aliveness out.
Abundance is a state of allowing- of allowing love to flow freely. And love? It begins inside of us. With learning how to love the uniquely beautiful things about ourselves.
A NEW CHAPTER: LIVING ABUNDANCE DIFFERENTLY
Business has always been my vehicle for testing and living the belief that we create our own lives. But stepping into coaching—selling something less tangible than a product—has challenged me to embody worth more deeply. There’s nothing to hide behind anymore.
I notice growth in small moments: the calm in my chest when a post gets few likes, knowing I’m showing up for what I care about no matter what; the relief of letting a conversation linger without rushing to “fix” anything; the warmth of my own energy when I take 5 minutes mid-day to pause and tune in.
I have to remind myself repeatedly that I can rest without guilt, create without forcing, receive without overextending. Ease isn’t passive, it’s a choice, made over and over.
A VISION ROOTED IN PRESENCE
As I enter a new chapter in age and career, my vision for abundance is rooted in presence:
In seeing people deeply and reflecting their worth back in ways that feel nourishing and encouraging — whether it’s buying from a small business, being curious about their experiences and passions, or listening long enough to find understanding.
In following creative and intellectual sparks without pressure to monetize — letting hobbies like reading, style, design, and travel enrich life for their own sake.
In honoring the balance of giving and receiving—through money, opportunities, and heartfelt connection—and how that return nourishes confidence, expands energy, and attracts the people and communities.
The moments that feel richest to me are the ones where I slow down: sipping coffee in my bed before taking a shower, lingering in conversation with my dad or walking around my neighborhood soaking up lush gardens, golden hour light and salty ocean air.
Appreciating what’s here always seems to make what’s here feel like enough.
REDEFINING ABUNDANCE
If I could rewrite the definition of abundance, it would be something like this:
“To feel deeply nourished by life through relationships, creativity, freedom, and experiences that feel rich, meaningful, and reciprocal.”
And from that place, I truly believe life naturally feels more alive.

This was really great.
This is beautiful. I love your definition of abundance. "To feel deeply nourished by life through relationships, creativity, freedom and experiences that feel rich, meaningful and reciprocal." Sadly for most of my life I have believed that abundance was working incessantly, so that I could have the means to obtain more. Meanwhile, I was neglecting the things that provide true abundance, which is rest, relationships and community. This will be restacked, so that it can be a constant reminder to pursue true abundance and so I can utilize the tips to remove the pains in my neck and hips (I resonated with that deeply).
